NAG was given a choice -- donate to the FPLOA what they considered their personal property or remove it. These were the instructions given by the Auditor and the FPLOA Treasurer. Personal belongings cannot be stored inside any building that is owned by the Association.
NAG was asked to provide a list of the items in FPC which they claimed as their own. Their choice was to remove everything they considered “theirs” and store it in the Atkins’ garage. No notice of their intensions was given prior to their actions.
NAG was also angry about the proposed $30 cleaning deposit (it is not a “fee”) which would allow for the cleaning of the facility if needed. Cleaning deposits would be completely refunded if the Center was left clean and in order.
What may not be known by the membership is that the kitchen and some cabinets were locked at all times as they were deemed to be owned by NAG. The Center building belongs to each and every landowner and having portions of it unavailable for landowner use is unacceptable.
Before the election last year, members of this same group indicated if they didn’t get their choice of who they wanted elected to the Board of Directors, then they would all resign. And they did. Choosing to resign as volunteers in our community and stripping the FPC has clearly proven what type of people they are.
Through anger and resentment, NAG stripped out FPC and now we are left with excuses justifying their actions and anonymous e-mails spreading false information. All of this could have been avoided with simple, level-headed communication.
